What worked for me is being a yes man against my nature and also checking out different social things in my area through an app called Meetup (there might be others). Now I'm part of a hiking group, a tennis group, a country dancing group and I suck and most of those but I still made friends and I'll get better with time.
Some hobbies can be pretty expensive to get into but then again if you have time to fuck around on 4chan for who knows how many hours a day you should have enough assets to spend a bit on new experiences.
