For anyone who wants to know how: assuming you're already familiar with using youtube-dl, first export your cookies and point youtube-dlp to the text file containing them so it can access the paywalled file(s). Once you've done that, go into the developer console of your browser (usually f12) and select the Media tab, then when the stream starts look for the "master" m3u8 playlist in the sources that appear. Copy that url into youtube-dlp and it should start downloading it -- if it doesn't work or only downloads a few seconds, try a different m3u8 link. The resulting file should export as either an m4a, or rarely, a .ts.
