>>22165587There's nothing wrong with being sappy. Any couple that love eachother enough to kiss in public or refer to their spouse as "sweetie" in a genuine fashion or any other blatant show of public affection always makes me happy. It lets me know that people who aren't ashamed of love still exist. Dating apps have been a disaster for the human race and hookup culture is a sign of the end times. The term "catching feelings" is just another in a long list of astroturfing schemes by cynical bitter individuals who have deluded themselves into thinking that fairytale endings are impossible. I will never let go of the classic and simple romantic tropes. Love at first sight, kisses on a moonlit beach, happily ever after, I refuse to ever give up my belief that these tropes are all real and attainable by anyone who's willing to give them a chance. Cynicism has tainted romance to an insane extent to a point where I even I have had to start referring to myself as a "hopeful romantic" cause allowing anyone to even imply that I have lost hope is not in the cards for me. I've been called cringe for these beliefs an uncountable number of times, and it has only reenforced my opinion that everyone who calls me cringe for this is far more cringe than myself. Imagine giving up hope, couldn't be me.
