Hell, COVER was an AR/VR Tech company which was originally using 2d and 3d models to showcase their product, right? and then that became profitable and they went from there? Can't remember properly, its like 2:30 already.
Aside, vtubers actually promoting a seperate product never seems to be effective. I mean, corporate vtubers (and by that I mean the likes of Crunchyroll hime and I think even Opera GX now?) end up more as a digital personality who uses those products more exclusively and rarely talks bad about them than actually shoving the product in your face like a proper ad.
Which honestly may be their strategy, that their marketing nerds realized being subtle with an anime girl might be more effective nowadays, but I still stay my point.
