>>1515385Generally speaking, it's a bad idea since the fuzzy part of the mold is the reproductive bit in charge of making spores. The actual body of the mold is a series of filaments growing into the food itself. On moist food, it's safe to assume the whole thing is compromised, while for harder foods you can get away with carving a chunk around the fuzz.
As for the dangers of eating the fuzz, it really depends on the type of mold as identifiable by the shape and color of the fuzz. Some are straight up toxic, others are merely unpleasant to the taste/smell. in most cases you generally don't want to interact with the fuzz because that means there's spores in the air, and breathing in enough mold spores can lead to full blown lung infection.
