Numberfagging is, quite frankly, just a derogatory way of saying "status seeking." And everyone, EVERYONE cares about status. They either care because they want to attain it, or define themselves around how it doesn't matter to them that they don't have it (giving away that they do, in fact, care about having an anti-status status).
