>>63901725>>63901831I just found the gameplay to be super dry and unvaried.
Ride to place while listening to two gruff cowboys talk to eachother about being gruff cowboys-> shoot several generic enemies with the same gun and no escalation in difficulty from the last identical fight you had -> Ride back / ride to next mission marker
And there was very little incentive to pursue the side content because you could make absurd amounts of money just by looting and a lot of the stuff (like hunting) just had it's own fairly stiff "by the numbers" formula. And since the gameplay makes up for a large amount of the time you spend on the game, having it be underwhelming is a big deal, personally.
So I feel like the game was supposed to be carried by the story, but since it's a prequel story I found it hard to get invested in the narrative because everything going terribly and basically everyone who doesn't get mentioned in RD1 dying was a forgone conclusion. So it felt like the whole game was "spoiled" for me before I ever played it.
I'm relieved that it didn't catch on as a stream game in EN, because for unrelated reasons it's not really good as a stream game.
