Not because she is the most prototypical, or some idealized form, or I think all idols are like, or should like her. Instead, it was because she demonstrated the journey that begins with a nervous, unrefined talent and grows to become amazing. Before, I didn't understand that aspect, because I was so put off by the pretensions and aesthetics of most idols.
