>>29292090It IS something you should do, because once you've trained your brain to remember dreams, it will keep remembering them even if you sleep properly.
So if you spend some time waking up in the middle of your dreams and writing them down, your brain will over time learn to remember dreams and maintain them even after it. Personally I haven't woken up to an alarm for years now, but I write down multiple dreams into my dream diary every single (non-stressful) night.
Just be aware that, once awake, if you start moving around, using your body, your sleep-memory will start draining VERY quickly. So it's best if you lie completely still and try to bring your dreams back to memory. You might get away with shutting off your alarm, but in general the less you move, the more your brain will still retain the dream memories and the easier it will be for you to recollect them into a sensible "story" that you can write down into your dream journal.
