Basically objective positioning is like how the Wii tracked the cursor using IR and relative tracking is how the Switch tracks the cursor (whenever it uses one) by tracking the movement of the controllers and calculating the position of the cursor based on that.
So that's why the model can "desync" now but this new method of tracking allows them to attach pngs because the pngs can follow the movement calculations now
