Pekora reaches far more people (time-zone wise) than Gura does and plays games that most people can comprehend regardless of language and are popular to watch (Minecraft being the biggest draw). Gura just plays games that interest her and her only guaranteed audience is the US.
This isn't a criticism of either of them, just pointing out that this is the reason why t his difference likely exists. It's not "dead subs". There's a lot of people (possibly Japanese and European) who will either skip Gura streams or just watch the VODS.
