I feel like hearing someone speak formal English or Old English nowadays is something that sounds ok and it's not super strange, but that's because the difference between it and "regular" spoken English really isn't as big as it is with formal and informal Portuguese. It just sounds like those BR chuubas are intentionally trying extremely hard to speak like they're actors in a movie or something and it sounds really annoying because it's not even like in the example you gave where the design and their backstory would make it fitting.
Anyways apologies for the spergout, it's just frustrating because I wish there were some chuubas from my own country I could watch but I genuinely cannot find any because of the above
