It also didn't help that Gura pulled big numbers early, so everyone and their mother started mass clipping her to get those sweet sweet views, which exposed her to more people due to how the algorithm works, so she pulled bigger numbers, and the spiral continued.
Nijisanji just didn't put in the effort to expose people over here to the same degree others like Hololive and VOMS Project did. Instead Nijisanji seem to have focused much more on the Asian scene and branched out to the west with an English scene because it was bound to happen. And honestly, even as a holofag, I think that's a genuin shame because it hampered some real quality idols.
