I have no idea what Pico-chan has been doing for the past 2 hours but I love the word megatherium, which is one the names in the title. Therion means "beast" in Greek, so megatherion means "large beast". The megatherion is an animal that lived in South America, and despite the name it wasn't that scary, it was kind of a big raccoon, or big marmot looking creature, that could stand on two legs.
The Greek name therion is Latinized to therium, hence the change in spelling.
