Audience for JP vtubers is pretty much normal people who are like slightly nerdy. They like anime, manga, etc which is normal in Japan. Many of them have normal relationships with men and women and don't think anything weird seeing a woman and man interacting on stream. Basically, Vtubers are no different from flesh streamers in Japan, many of them really are often like OTV and those other normie collectives.
Meanwhile the audience for EN vtubers is giga weebs who have very weak social skills and are obsessed with a culture that isn't their own and they have zero connection to. They are often very bitter towards normies, very bitter towards fleshtubers, very bitter towards people who aren't like them basically. Introducing male/female interactions into this audience is obviously gonna result in backlash. Especially since, fans of male vtubers themselves have zero interest in interacting or befriending fans of female vtubers. They choose to self-isolate and the two groups cannot get along due to a mutual disdain towards eachother. You'll never be able to break this wall in the EN scene unless actual normies start invading, which is obviously undesirable. My advice to male vtubers would be learning Japanese or Chinese and just pandering to fujos in asia because they're the only people that will give you a chance. You are entirely unwanted in the western scene.
