>>68851735Actually genuinely listen to both soundtracks. Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory is repetitive and boring, it sounds like every other studio musical at the time. Pure imagination is nice but it doesn't fit the energy of the source material at all. Charlie has actual lyrics for the oompa loompas and they're taken directly from the book, word for word, that's what they're supposed to be singing. Plus Danny elfman went crazy and gave each of them an actual fitting genre change. Listen to the tracks from both when Augustus gloop gets glooped and really tell me that Charlie doesn't musically mog Willy Wonka.
>>68851805That's literally how it's supposed to be. The tone of the book it weird and kinda dark and willy Wonka is a fucked up dude trying to judge which child shall inherit the empire that drove him mad.
