One of the most eye-opening parts of this whole Selen thing has been just how much of a dramatic cultural difference there is between westerners and Japanese. In the west, you have cultural warriors on opposite sides of the aisle spitroasting Nijisanji, while Japanese fans insist the problem is foreigners daring to question the authority of a Japanese company. Given Hololive doesn’t have the same problems as Nijisanji, it seems like the dilemma should obviously not be a gaijin vs Japanese thing, but that’s still the way they view it for the most part.
