Not to say P3 is super deep, but it stays thematically consistent and by the end of the game (and through various Social Links) does a good job of making those themes feel relevant and executes on them in a mature way. P5 struggles a lot with committing to anything, hence why the story and pacing are so haphazard, and why a lot of people say it comes off as really immature or cartoonish, which I kind of agree with. I haven't played Royal so I can't speak to any of the added content, personally.
