I don't think I've heard her talk about it that much, but at debut she said that they're sealing her Phoenix form. She can't transform unless she unsheathes her sword, probably. They're likely very resilient and heat-resistant, I guess? Also she reincarnates into another dimension every 200 years. Kiara lore is pretty interesting. Hinotori seems to imply she has some sort of fate she doesn't know about but wants to fulfill. Even more concerning is that apparently less phoenixes than before, according to the debut lore.
