Discord isn't an option unless you have friends to form a private group. Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc are all corporate hiveminds.
Maybe 15 years ago when there were tons of alternative imageboards like 7ch and 420ch I would've been happy to just leave and go somewhere else when 4chan was full of shitposting, but that's no longer possible unless you wanna hang out on glowie honeypots. Once 4chan is gone that's it, the era of the internet many of us loved and grew up with will be gone forever. So I stick around to argue with shitposters no matter how futile it is because I don't want it to die.
