I'll never truly be mad enough to raise my voice and yell at, or hit the people I love, but I won't be immediately responsive.
If I barely respond, or my tone carries a lot of negativity, I'm sighing a lot, avoiding eye contact, etc, try again in like 20 minutes.
If you keep talking while I'm sounding like that, nothing will get better, send me a funny picture or crack a joke 20 mins later. If I respond better than I did prior, then try talking again, I'll likely respond better. If I'm still barely responsive, give it another 20 minutes, and continue this until I stop being a bitch and give a proper response.
No one stays upset forever, it's like trying to stir a pot that isn't ready. It's somewhat redundant and you're just making it take longer.
Everyone is different, but this is just my personal thing.
