>>1592502It's not that people want a hugbox, anon. We manage to have quality discussion.
What the post is talking about are people who come here because they want a HURTBOX. The people who only come here to start shit, because what they like is not the hobby or discussion itself. They only like shitposting for the sake of shitposting.
If you enjoy your hobby, then enjoying talking about it should be enough. Talking about it with people who share your tastes is great, but this thread excels because it brings together a lot of people with different tastes, united under a single hobby that ties them together.
But there are a few people who hate discussing hobbies as they are. They want to narrativepost. They want to shitpost. They want to discuss "the final yab," which if you see anyone say that shit just know that's a splitfag meme that shows up in the catalog a lot. They think the best period in Hololive's history was the Taiwan arc because there was suffering and shitposting abound, and if they weren't newfags, they'd be celebrating Mel, Towa and Miko's incidents as the best things to ever happen to Hololive.
What I want is a site that I can speak relatively freely on, about how I enjoy these things. And I want to talk with people who share similar, but different interests, and hear the passion of other anons ring loud and true. A clean beach, free to be built up into the tallest of sand structures, seeing everyone make their own interesting variations and learning from each other on how to appreciate them. And if the tide comes in and washes them away, we can always find another to make again.
What I don't want is the equivalent of people who come to the beach because their only fun is gained from kicking over the sandcastles. They don't appreciate the beauty of what is here; they only find beauty in the dissolution of that which is good.
