>>62766905This has always been my stance on streaming. I unironically despise parasocialism, and I mean actual parasocialism, not whatever Twitterites and Twitchites call parasocialism. Most of the people on those sites who pretend to hate parasocialism are hypocrites since they themselves are trying to become social media celebrities, which is inherently parasocial.
I've hated live streaming and streamers for a long time because the only way you could honestly enjoy watching most of them is only by liking them as persons and pretending like their your friends. Well I say fuck that. That shit is toxic as hell. Vtubers gave me hope that maybe there could be some people out there who could detach themselves from the stream and make entertaining and creative content through streaming, but it soon devolved into "We're friends right? Please donate to me" type of crap. As soon as that happened, all the narcissists leapt onto the trend like flies buzzing around a pile of shit.
Gura is actually trying to make fun content that isn't just about herself, and you hate it. Well I say good for her. I will be rooting for her, and I hope that you and the rest of you simps, including the former chumbuds who parasocially liked her, all go to hell for enabling social media celebritism and parasocialism to fester this long.
