>>70888393>The point of self inserting is to be the main character. Where I become Momonga, and where I do not touch Albedo because that is what Momonga would do and I, at that moment, am MomongaYou and I clearly are talking about completely different things and you are talking about a completely different thing from what the anon in the first post you replied was talking about.
What you are describing is not
>self insertingbut
>immersingEverything you wrote is about immersion, to delve deep into the storytelling and see the world through the eyes of the character and, by extension, the author of the story.
That is NOT what is being talked about and I don't even think you understand what "self insert" is in the context that is being talked.
The origin of the expression comes from the fanfic world (and the fiction world in general) where the author would create a "self insert" character with "self" being in the literal sense, an avatar to the author. Here is an example of what is being talked
>pic relatedwhen one of the writers for the Powerpuff girls reboot wrote (or got written into) the show as the love interest for one of the girls.
Everything that is said about "self insert" relates to this and not to "immersion".
When the original post mentions that the homobeggars want bland homos to "self insert" that's exactly what is being talked about
>homos are so devoid of personality homobeggars write elaborate fanfics about the homos (serving as an avatar to themselves) are powerful womanizers, irresistible conquerors and that the girls all would throw themselves at their feet if not for the pesky invisible gun to their heads."Self insert" is not "immersion". The original criticism to the homobeggars are 100% on point and everything you said is unrelated to it
