I'm trying to argue, that equating "being upset" with "doom" is a completely unhealthy and unrealistic attitude, which suggests early childhood experiences, where your mother being upset was a SERIOUS FUCKING THING, leading you to feel "doom" whenever your mother felt upset, and so you carry that dynamic in your present life. You see someone being upset, and you instinctively react to it, as if it were something as serious as what you felt in your early childhood.
