>>28075791oh shit sorry i almost missed this. uhh it's almost 4 am so i'm not gonna be very concerned about accuracy but the cmb is basically thought to be a residue of the big bang explosion which produced electromagnetic radiation that has now redshifted into the microwave spectrum, and the fact it's literally everywhere in the sky and it's (almost) perfectly uniform across the universe even at distances larger than 14 billion light years (age of the universe) suggests that everything must've come from a single common place.
the axis of evil is an observation that, actually, there's a bit of non uniformity (or direction) in a certain plane of the cmb and we just so happen to be in the middle of that, so maybe we're actually special and not just floating in a random boring place on the universe. it doesn't really change anything except "wow we're the chosen ones" though imo.
