That means the average woman is expected to have 1.2 children in their life. It requires a birthrate of 2.1 in order to reproduce a population.
Therefore the Japanese population is getting cut down by 43%...in a SINGLE generation. Such a rapid population decline has never been seen in all of human history.
Basically we are playing a game of musical chairs right now, where only 6/10 people have chairs to sit on. All the others are getting voted off the island.
But with urban populations it's even worse, we're talking like 0.7 fertility rate. Their population is literally getting cut by 2/3. In other words, it's like a game of musical chairs where there's 3 chairs for 10 people.
Vast swaths of people are just...not reproducing.
The problem is how fucked up relationship dynamics have become. The liberalization of homosexuality, pornography. It literally MUST change, and WILL change, if society is to progress.
So you might "love" your oshi, but in reality, you are being weeded out of the gene pool.
