It's really a lose lose situation for Holos. Because they are so popular they have a lot of casual fans. People will watch clips and latch on to whatever they can. The Holo wants to encourage these tired out memes to some extent because it provides interaction and grows interest. But since there are so many people, things get run into the ground too fast. If they say anything against it, the fans might feel chastised or hurt. Thus the Holo plays into it most of the times but when they want to scale back, it's too late because new and casual fans will use that as their "in" to the community. And they don't want to turn away those people either. Another recent example is Noel and Flare wanting to move away from the Girlfriend/Boyfriend, Husband/Wife labels. Shit gets old.
