It kind of seems Magni got fed up with Cover and Ves just decided to leave along with him.BUT OVER ALL YES.
I have thought of this too, but there is one big problem, it took Shinri multiple tries to get in, Ves was only going to try the one time. In this scenario, he might have never gotten in and a universe where he was a Holo for at least one year is better then one where he was never.
