>>12484761I'll have a stab at the holonations ideas - mine will be loosely based on
>>12487431 but a bit more abstract and simple.
>HolonationsYou can only be a member of one holonation at a time. You can able to join any nation by paying for a one-time membership fee. This fee is set by that nations 'ruler' (with a minimum value high enough so that brand new accounts cannot join).
>RulerAt adjustment time for every nations new ruler is the member who has the most coins of that nation. The ruler is the sole member that interacts with other nations (with one exception).
>Income for nationsLike the previous example the broker fee is the main income source for nations. Other sources of income will also include the membership fee, loot from raiding other nations and voluntary donations from nation members.
>Money within nations (and prestige)Money is used to increase that nation's prestige, maintain the benefits that all members experience and raid other nations. Benefits within nations require a certain prestige level to be maintained. Prestige is be reduced by being raided or by going into debt (gives an injection of cash when it happens).
>RaidingThe ruler can raid another nation by specify an attack amount (paid by the nation). The attacker will always lose all the money they spent on an attack. However they will gain some money, items and possibly prestige depending on how well the raid went. On the other hand, the result is the inverse for the defender. Once a nation has been raided there is a cooldown before it can be raid again (however a third nation could attack it). Nation members can also raid other nations by cannot use the nation's money to do so - but they can use their own private funds.
>Member BenefitsMembers will get a discount off the broker fee of that nations coin. The discount amount is set by the ruler, but the discount must be paid by the nation instead. Members will also benefit from trade agreements, which are mutually agreed discounts off the broker fee between two nations.
>RelationsThere are four stages diplomatic relations between two nations which are:
1. No relations - the ruler and members can raid the other nation.
2. Establish embassy - the ruler can privately message the other nation's ruler, but cannot raid anymore (other members are allowed to raid).
3. Non aggression pact - the ruler can set up a trade agreement with the other nation, but members are not able to raid anymore.
4. Alliance - provides extra defence when being raided, however when an ally is raided your nation may suffer some losses as well.
Both rulers need to agree to implement or increase a change in the relationship. However only one ruler is needed to reduce or cancel an agreement.
For example... Both leaders agree to a trade agreement of 75% discount off the broker fee. Later one ruler reduces it to 25%. Sometime later they both agree to increase it 50%.
>Special ItemsThere are plenty of places you can put special collectables, such as loot from raids or a nation shop members can spend liquid at.
I have written too much.
