>>72853662Good points, and I remember this change too. I think it also has to do with more people being raised on the internet, reading less, indulging in self-selected content binges - echo chambers - circlejerks - and ofc with the development of troll culture and informational warfare. When people come out of touch with things that are not their immediate tribe, it lowers their ability to imagine and account for perspectives that are not their own.
People will always want to customize and select for personal taste, and that is always part of the refinement of certain times of media, in my experience anyways. The internet has, for better and for worse, been a disruptive tool to reshape our development as social animals. There is a silver lining, even through all the outrage mobs and astroturfing, this cells of echo chambers, are being mapped out for their characteristics, and this gives us a better understanding of our tribal nature. I think that topic is a huge issue for human development. Sorry for the blogpost anon, thank you for sticking till the end. Have a cute Mint taking notes.
