>>12061740I do think it was the portal castle. I was the most notable notable paranormal event that happened after they got the voodoo dolls (where they were still definitely themselves).
So assuming I'm right something like this went down:
>Stick & Stones doppelgangers of the crew were at the carnival (why/how though I'm still not sure)>When the crew went through the castle, their real selves ended up trapped into the mirror world asleep, and it was their doppelgangers that popped out of the window>TTRPG perspective swapped to the doppelgangers. At this point, the dolls they were holding were linked to the alternate (so the doppelgangers had dolls for the real bodies' dolls, and vice versa).>This continued up until the mirror room, where perspective swapped back to their real selves as they woke up.>When the real selves (in the mirror) unraveled the dolls they were holding, the doppelgangers ceased to be and they absorbed the doppelgangers' memories. All of this said, I'm not sure what the "point" of this all was. It seems like it just a plot device to draw them to the carnival, and then they disappear after some mirror scenario. The doppelgangers didn't seem to be "evil" or anything and it didn't seem to really affect the plot.
