There were actual back-and-forth arguments about this, because people legitimately believed a general thread on 4chan should stop doing or talking about anything in case someone the generals about shows up. Not even if they're there; in case they show up. It was pretty pathetic and led to a lot of unnecessary hate tying into the rest of your post.
There was also people trying to force her DnD characters name to be the name she refers to the thread as, but thankfully this was after that dark era and basically everyone went "that's fucking stupid" and it stopped after the thread it was brought up in.
