Though you should take all discussions of sports viewership "declining" with a grain salt, because the real culprit is that people are cutting their cables and choosing to watch illegals restreams rather than pay a cable provider extra money for sports channels
This disproportionally does not effect the NFL because not only is their season very short but their games (for the most part) all occur on the same singular day with the majority of airing on national television networks that don't require cable (FOX, NBC, CBS)
