>>43125120Reposting for Sapling. I would ideally like this base to be set in the past because it would make sense that we would be interested in setting up this base circa 950 or so. It's up to you on that.
I also think we an ESL moment Hoomen, but the more I think about it, the more we really need to think about what exactly our relationship is historically because there are several ways of looking at it.
>1. From my understanding of your lore, your unification would probably have two effects on my nation.>>a. Alarm. a militaristic state that espouses your values stands in contrast to my nation greatly.>>b. "Well, At least our neighbors aren't schizos.">2. With that in mind, I am interested in how our borders came to be. My nation would have preferred to have a more natural frontier border, I have brought this up with you several times, as well as with the map anons that I would rather not have my long northern border essentially be a valley. >3. Why exactly are we cast as a friendly nation with you given that our ideologies are far apart, our cultures are not exactly similar, you sort of speak a totally different tongue, and your religion can be seen as rather revolutionary to my conservative nation? Furthermore, Why exactly would we be more than willing, as the proud nation we are, to help you establish a navy when we are more than capable of dealing with threats ourselves? What is my nation really getting out of this whole arrangement? It's not like we are lacking in things like raw materials and probably have a well developed, but perhaps backwards, economy. Food is hardly an issue for us either frankly, I don't know what oldrep was thinking and if i am honest... The only real reason I can think of is that we see you as a threat and would rather essentially be a tributary to you (Which I absolutely do not want at all.) It feels rather one sided all things considered, and given my nation's own superiority complex, it baffles me in a way.>4. I also have had many headaches from being forced to accept past lore without much choice from the beginning. I would rather not hold on to lore that I did not create and came from an era in this thread that is totally different than the current thread. This is not to say we cannot be on good terms, but I would rather a relationship be actually mutually beneficial rather than just me giving you a bunch of things in exchange for practically nothing. I understand it was potatoes, but again, that raises the question of why we had issues with food to begin with considering we are a much older nation than you. It's also not like we cannot import food from other countries that we trade with. In short, most of the disagreements we have come down to the simple fact that in the end, I was strapped with past lore and basically had to accept it. I do not want that to continue as it is just going to lead to my own frustration. Let's figure it out properly. Put it in a rentry, no more half heart efforts by either of us here.
