>>75159169It was actually more because Hanna-Barbera created the model of cheap animation that was primarily children-oriented as opposed to Disney and WB who were at the time making cartoons designed for everyone to enjoy. I love Joe Barbera on a personal level, really nice guy, and I have a huge soft spot for Scooby-Doo which he created, but the damage he did to the perception of animation as a medium in the US is incalcuable.
