If you were to go into a family meeting with a plushie of your oshi in hand, that'd be weird. Now, if you're among a bunch of similarly minded nerds who love what they are doing, be it cosplay, talking about chuubas or buying chuuba merchandise, there's no reason for you to feel embarrassed. Take it from me who's gone to multiple cons while crossdressing! Nobody cares, especially during con days. They get weirdos walking all over town more often than not. I love seeing the expressions of people in fast food when you walk in full cosplay, even when I'm alone. It's fucking con day, who cares? One day a year to behave like yourself. Why not? You won't ever see these people again and even if you do, chances are both sides won't remember each other.
