It's interesting that Mari considers avoiding YouTube to be part of "social media detox." For me, watching VTubers on YouTube is the detox from all the garbage I see on other websites. Although I guess if you're not careful with YouTube it can be just as bad, I know about all the garbage angry political videos that get forced on you all the time so I use YouTube in a very specific way, I don't go to the main page so it won't recommend me that kind of shit, I use an adblocker to block the sidebar and the comments so I'm not tempted to look at related videos, and I just go directly to the subscriptions page. That way I only experience VTubers and whatever stuff I choose to search for like music and shit. And even in that latter case YouTube made a point of garbaging up the search feature so you start getting suggested unrelated shit after like three search results so you have to be very careful how you use the search feature. So it's actually not too weird that people see YouTube this way because you have to curate your experience something fierce to enjoy it as much as I do. I did see YouTube has Monsters vs. Aliens for free though so I'm thinking of watching that because I never see it before. I think you know why I'm interested in Monsters vs. Aliens.
