I don't think there was ever a point in time where the Hololive fanbase wasn't absolutely dominated by people who enjoyed western media... at Gura's peak her popularity was extremely mainstream, and you had western e-celebs such as Sykkuno trying to get into her... and again, the sheer amount of Hololive memes centering around western pop culture references are staggering. Even on this very board! I understand that you're very proud of your hypothesis, but there's really no evidence suggesting it's the case. There is a lot of evidence pointing to the contrary.
