>>67236448It is. I thought it was going to be some meme cashgrab shit, but seeing Peeba having so much fun made me give it a
pirate, and not only does the game has some noticeable love and effort put into it, but turns out that the crafting survival and pokemon clone genres complement each other surprisingly well and make up for some of each other's most glaring weaknesses.
With new pals and bosses all round the open world doesn't feel empty and exploration feels actually exciting, while having your pals working for you at the base also makes the usual chores bearable and even fun to watch, and the palbox keeps giving you tasks so you always have at least a tangible objective.
Being able to engage in real-time combat more actively, more freely around the terrain without artificial blocks, and explore at your own pace going anywhere you want also feels refreshing after so many linear pokemon games. See that gay ass little slope? You can fucking climb it now!
One of the biggest problems so far however is that it starts stuttering terribly after a while, like freezing for several seconds every few seconds whether you're doing stuff at your base or in the middle of fucking combat. It's extremely frustrating, seems to get worse as time goes on, and makes it feel actually unplayable at times. I don't have an SSD so it might be an issue on my end, but with some googling I found out that even people with beefy ass nasa-tier PCs are also having issues so I hope they're going to solve whatever it is that's fucking up the performance so horribly.
