I wouldn't go as far as to say the blue triangle is the end all be all, however. If I say Markiplier or Pewdiepie there is a high chance you know who they are. If I say one of the Japanese named Vtubers that are impossible to remember, you'll probably just default to oh, blue dorito people.
Still, it's not just Vtubing. The arts in general are a terror to make headway in. If you spend all your time creating like you want to, you have no time to get your name out. If you spend all your time getting your name out, you're probably not making much.
Artists make the world, but having backup makes a big difference.
