The last few chapters left me with such an exhilarating existential dread that I couldn't sleep. Such fun concepts. I read the fourth book and it's such an obvious departure from the other authors relatively hard science fiction viewpoints.
I hate how a lot of sci-fi has humanity fighting on a relatively lower, but potentially winnable battlefield with other intelligent species, with big space battles featuring big explosions and generic lasers
