Corporations do the work of sorting through that haystack so I don't have to, because that's what their recruiting departments get paid to do. I don't get paid for trying to find good indies. I don't even get paid to shill my oshi. I do it for free so long as it amuses me. And if I was going to find an indie to shill, I'd expect some form of finder's fee for doing corpos' work for them.
Honestly, it's not my job to discover indies. They're the ones competing for my attention, and that means learning to properly market oneself is next to godliness. Also, I don't use reddit or Twitter, so if they're not hyped up on /vt/ while I'm browsing then I won't know they exist.
