>>13641009>Anyone who links that FTC shit is certified retarded. Different crimes are handled differently. You notify the public of data breaches or phishing scams when the thing on the line is just info and nothing more.Info means identity theft, info means literally losing all your money and being framed for crimes by e.g. opening accounts in your name, info is everything on the internet.
Also saying different crimes are different doesn't tell us how this should have been handled.
>Someone trying to steal your banking info warrants a notice. People doxing you for the sake of swatting gets handled completely differently. You warn the public about a serial killer on the loose, just like you warn the public about attackers trying to impersonate your business to doxx and swat. Swatting can kill.
The only reasoning we ever heard about why people should keep quiet about this is that it may make the attacker harass and swat more, which was stated by the cybersecurity guy in
>>13638398 .
That made sense before the phishing happened because it was just talents being harassed, so notifying the public doesn't protect anyone. But after the phishing this became an issue of public endangerment, and the public needed to be warned. Indie VTubers don't have a big company to help them through getting harassed, doxxed, and swatted.
>Additionally, VShojo had auditions open, anyone who would reply to a phishing attack like that would be an idiot as well.If a company posts advertisements saying they're looking for hires, that doesn't mean they won't reach out to prospective employees, that's retarded. That's just part of looking for hires.
>And what more proof do you need that Nux was lead on a wild goose chase than the fact he "found" the guy using a mysterious fan's help. All he said in his now-deleted video is the hacker's Discord guy leaked an audio clip of the hacker bragging.
>Said investigation leading him to an OnlyFans account, when the guy is confirmed to be underaged so it has to be a fake account. We don't know how he got the username he used for OnlyFans, we don't know which OnlyFans employee leaked the information registered to the OnlyFans username.
In his video, he talked about OnlyFans before he talked about the hacker bragging, so we don't even know the order in which things happened. Nux needs to release a timeline of his investigation for us to know more.
I'm not arguing against some of his info being bogus, the cybersecurity guy confirmed some of his info was bogus. But Nux didn't say much about his investigation.
>And legally they can not tell him not to make the video. Nux doesn't work for VShojo, nor is he an affiliate of theirs. Attempting to silence him WOULD actually be a crime. That doesn't mean they can't tell him it was a horrible idea. They could have easily said "this is a shitty idea for these reasons but we legally can't stop you from doing this", but they didn't say that.
Instead they said in the Discord messages in
>>13638398 that their concerns were the attacker gaining notoriety and the attacker harassing the talents and swatting more, but the cybersecurity guy also explicitly said this was their concern "IN THE PAST".
Nux complied with the notoriety concerns by not mentioning his name.
Nux argued that the public needed to be warned, given what happened to Sakii and himself, and the cybersecurity guy said he understood. There's a reason the cybersecurity guy calls Nux's video a "public service announcement" in
>>13638398 .
The cybersecurity guy literally reviewed the video and thanked him multiple times privately and also publicly in the now-deleted tweet linked in
>>13638398 . The cybersecurity guy had a chance to redact shit, and he did actually ask Nux to redact some names, but that was it.
>He even shows in his apology that he's arguing against them, and he doesn't show anythnig else of this conversation. They could've been at it for an hour before relenting because when you're dealing with a faggot drama anituber you also don't want to say something that would provoke him into making a video because then it'd be your ass on the line. They could just sue him if they slandered him. Hell apparently they could just get everyone to tweet against him, and that would have cancelled him.
It's retarded to think a big company rich enough to hire a cybersecurity team could be bullied by some clout-chasing indie faggot into not wanting to tell him no.
At this point it's up to VShojo to show they were bullied or that they argued with him not to post it, because most of the Discord messages posted so far make it look collaborative.
