>>28698000NijiJP had the exact same problem, but back in 2019.
There's even a famous rant by a former nijifan turned anti about the exact places that he thought they were fucking up, with half of them being very accurate but the other half being schizoposting (and so ending up with no one taking the parts that he got right seriously).
Something he got right at the time, was that the "Nijisanji" brand during 2018 was a "seal of approval", akin to early Nintendo (and for the most part, current day Hololive) of quality assurance.
Someone in Nijisanji was considered to have "made it" in the industry, and that was the end goal of every single Indie at the time.
But after the SEEDs + Gamers merge (along with even more debuts in 2019) their roster just got waaay too bloated, and after a while just being in Nijisanji could no longer be considered "special" since literally every single known VTuber, big name or otherwise, was in Nijisanji.
You're seeing the "schism" happen only now in the EN branch because it's the same cycle that happened to JP back in 2019.
And that saga ended with NijiJP's audience being taken over by JP normalfags, who consist of the majority of their fandom now.
In a year or two, the same will happen to the EN audience as more and more of the original fans come to the realization that they are no longer the target audience.
