>>81168242Alright so obviously the world that Jets inhabits is full of technological advancements that pale in comparison of our modern day, so it's taken place in the far future. Cynapse casts an ominously large shadow even though it's portrayed as an Australian-based agency, which means that it has likely taken over the najority if not all of the region of Australia in terms of authority, where the corporation of Cynapse and the country of Australia have effectively turned into the same political entity. Whether or not there are territories that other corporations control alongside Cynapse I do not know, but it has been shown to be the ruling hegemony in Australia.
Now Cynapse's primary function is the security and protection of Australia from kaiju monsters done so by cybernetically enhanced genetically engineered battle conditioned clone that go by the name of Jean Faymas a.k.a Jets. Our Jets' number 237 indicates there have been atleast 236 clone subjects prior to her activation. Cynapse obviously has special ized knowledge of human biology, genetics, and the integration of invasive cybernetics without violent rejection. We also know that this expertise extends outside the subject of the human body and into other fields, as they are the very ones engineering the very same kaiju their company exists to fight against.
Now the following is just conjecture, but I speculate that Cynapse could be one of a number of kaiju security corporations that operate on a global level. These corporations may have initially been formed to combat and repel an actual kaiju threat. To predicate a company's existence to fighting giant monsters when said monsters don't exist would be silly, and so would dumping who knows how much money into the creation, and the very solution, of the monster. I believe that there was a threat (either extraterrestrial, ultraterrestrial, or accidentally created) which was so widespread and existential that it needed the cooperation of the entire globe to beat it back. In addition to ensuring the preservation of the human race, corporations would grow rich off the government selling their cutting edge mechs and piloting expertise. After the threat was more or less neutralized, the need for combat mechs would either be exclusively for war or obsolete. The world may have became significantly more united after all disparate nations coming together bg an outside force, which made it difficult for the corporations to peddle their mechs as useful. And so the corporations hatched a plan to make the kaiju menace a reoccurring cycle by reverse engineering and resurrecting their former nemesis of mankind in order to keep their coffers full. This cabal eventually amassed so much power by governments prioritizing the security and safety of the countries that they have effectively become the de facto rulers of the world, in which Cynapse governs over their corpostate of Australia and Oceania, while other corporations make up other corpostates in large swaths of geographical influence
