Today I'm off work since I spent most of the day doing productive stuff including security studies! But I've got a fun one today. Did you know that in the world there are many trees and plants that spread their seeds through a process known as serotiny? For example, many coniferous trees, such as pine trees require fire-mediated serotiny to spread their pinecones around for new pine trees to form. The pine-cones themselves often have resin from the trees that seal the seeds inside the cone, and are only activated with fire.
