Well, I'm assuming that you're a single person. If that's true, then you SHOULD be fine. The Standard Deduction for a single person for the 2021 tax season, from the sources I found, is $12,550. So that means that, if you haven't applied the standard deduction, your tax bill would be inverted. Maybe you already applied THAT deduction and were talking about more specialized stuff?
