It happens when they do their job as a transaction (put up videos/streams with jokes and planned stuff --> get money) instead of deriving joy and fulfillment from the very act of streaming, interacting with and entertaining your fans.
Holos who overwork themselves and take breaks due to body issues will still continue interacting with their fans on twitter etc. and sometimes even put out pre-recorded content during their breaks.
Because they aren't "burned out" on their fans, they simply overworked themselves for the SAKE of their fans (which is also bad, but it's different from burnout).
