God nor man is perfect. He wants you to accept your original sin and love him regardless. In exchange God will love you. Christian onward believe Jesus took the responsibility of original sin so you can love the Lord in earnest. It's up to the worshipper to decide how they do so.
As far as organized religion goes most people see the Pope as the antichrist. There is no consensus. You go to church to network or find a wife.
